Forza Horizon 5 has removed Chinese Lanterns from the map and the associated challenge has expired.
Forza Horizon 5 loves to introduce new items into the game for you to smash, and that’s why during Series 3, so many racers were hunting for Chinese Lantern locations.
These Floating Lanterns lit up the empty deserts of Mexico at night, giving the game a great sense of vibrancy to celebrate the Chinese New Year. There was also a Playlist challenge to smash 50 Floating Chinese Lanterns, so finding them became a top priority. Here are the Forza Horizon 5 Floating Chinese Lantern locations that helped players scoop some extra points towards the Series 3 rewards.
Forza Horizon 5 Floating Chinese Lantern locations
Floating Chinese Lanterns in Forza Horizon 5 could be found in the Dunas Blancas location in the west of Mexico. They were scattered across the entirety of the dunes.
In our experience, tall off-road vehicles are best for smashing these lanterns. This is because of the terrain and the fact that the lanterns float a few feet off the ground, so some low super cars can sometimes drive straight underneath them.
Also, if you headed to the location highlighted on the map below, right under where the ‘n’ in Blancas is located, you will find a set of around half a dozen lanterns floating in the air, meaning you can grab them all with one jump off a dune.
If for whatever reason you struggle to find 50 in one trip to the Dunas Blancas, simply close your game, restart it, and they will have all respawned.
That covers the Forza Horizon 5 Floating Chinese Lantern locations. For more help with the game, check out our list of the best offroad cars in Forza Horizon 5 and the fastest car in Forza Horizon 5 so you can rack up Ultimate Speed skills.
