MW3 may finally see Call of Duty’s Captain Price drop into Fortnite

New Fortnite leaks claim a collaboration with the Call of Duty series, tying into the release of Modern Warfare 3, is on the horizon for PS5 and Xbox players.

If there’s one thing we all know about Epic Games’ behemoth Fortnite nowadays it’s this: no collaboration is off the table. From anime series Dragon Ball Z and popular content creators Loserfruit and Lazarbeam to Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim and England striker Harry Kane, Epic Games has brought an eclectic mix of pop culture icons (real and otherwise) to this free shooting game. However, despite the fact that you can use one of the best Peely skins in a squad with Ariana Grande and Mr Beast, this game still hasn’t collaborated with one of its biggest rivals and one of the best games like Fortnite: Call of Duty. Well, that could be about to change with the release of Modern Warfare 3. It looks like a Fortnite Call of Duty collab is coming, at long last.

Shared recently by renowned Fortnite leaker content creator ‘BurnnLeaks‘, it looks like a Call of Duty collaboration is coming to Fortnite in December 2023. This has been leaked alongside an Overwatch collaboration and a World of Warcraft collaboration – two huge video game franchises ripe for content. As you can see below, it looks like this will be included in a larger wave of in-game content unlike anything we’ve seen before – supposedly.

As always, until we see more concrete evidence of this, it’s worth taking this leak with a rather large pinch of salt – even it if feels like an inevitability. It’s also worth noting that we don’t know what this collaboration will look like. However, we could hazard a guess that it would involve buyable bundles featuring the franchise’s iconic characters like Captain Price, Ghost, and Soap.

But, of course, there’s a lot to be excited about here. However, how much weight should we really give these leaks? Well, when you consider when the Modern Warfare 3 release date is expected to arrive – and then, by extension, when Season 1 of this game’s post-launch content is expected to arrive – the timeline does make some sense. We could certainly see a collaboration of sorts arrive to celebrate the start of yet-another new era of Call of Duty content.

So, while we know Fortnite’s collaboration content doesn’t need to be attached to an ‘event’ to be released, it doesn’t sound completely out of the ordinary. God of War’s Kratos, the Tomb Raider herself Lara Croft, and the Uncharted series’ Nathan Drake are all available in Fortnite as purchasable skins (whenever they rotate into the store, anyway). So, why not characters like Captain Price and Ghost?

We know there are a lot of options out there, but Fortnite is one of the best battle royale games ever and Modern Warfare 3 has the potential to be one of the best competitive FPS games available when it launches. This leak claims that this could be content unlike anything we’ve seen before. So, with recent Fortnite leaks showcasing an upcoming FPS mode, we could be in for something special.
