Epic Games’ Fortnite is one of the best battle royale games out there right now and the shooter’s spooky Fortnitemares event just goes to cement that further. With Alteration Altars littering the Reality Tree, new spooky cosmetics in the Item Shop, and a few jump scares to fight through, there’s a lot to look forward to. However, one thing you might not know about is this: Fortnite players can get a free skin for finishing all the Fortnitemares challenges before the event ends.

Yes, you’re reading that right. If you want to join in on the fun of Fortnitemares, but you don’t want to spend your hard-earned V Bucks on anything in the Item Shop, you’ll be able to get your hands on a free skin for finishing all the in-game challenges related to the Fortnitemares event.

Interestingly, this information isn’t apparent in the English-language version of the Fortnitemares Fortnite blog post from Epic Games. However, known Fortnite leaker HYPEX has reported that confirmation on a free skin is available in the Italian-language version of the announcement.

However, at the moment, we don’t know what this skin is going to look like – or any of the details regarding the challenges players will need to complete to unlock it.

Another Fortnite content creator, Jaykey, has seemingly confirmed that the Chrome Punk skin – and some associated cosmetics – is what players can expect to get their hands on for finishing these limited-time challenges. However, this is unconfirmed and should be taken with a pinch of salt – even if these sorts of things are usually accurate.

Up until October 31 at 23:00 PST and November 1 at 02:00 EST / 07:00 GMT, two Fortnitemares Quests will become available every day. Completing five of these will get you the Everything’s End Glider, completing 13 will get your the Chrome Cage Back Bling, and completing 25 will get you the Unmaker Pickaxe. We are under the impression that completing all 28 challenges will be enough to unlock the Chrome Punk skin.

Fortnite is one of the best free shooting games out there and it’s great to see more free cosmetics for those players who put their time into it. We just wish the Fortnite Desdemona skin was available for a little longer – but, playing around with a Fortnite VPN might help you get your hands on it as soon as it’s back in the Item Shop.
