After another week of tantalizing soccer, it’s time for FC 24 TOTW 13. The soccer game’s latest Team of the Week offering has, as always, taken the top performers from across the globe and given them a tasty bump in stats. Here you’ll not only see some of the brightest stars in world soccer boosted to even loftier heights, but some of the beautiful game’s diamonds in the rough may also be projected into the meta. This week, cerebral forward Heung-min Son has topped the list, but there are a few stars further down the overall ranking who have received major upgrades.
Son’s inclusion in this FC 24 TOTW list shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. The Spurs captain bagged a goal and two assists against Newcastle United at the weekend, and has already matched his domestic goal tally from last season. The finest talent South Korea has ever produced (unless you’re a Ji-sung Park enjoyer), Son is aging like fine soju and fully deserves a second TOTW gong in one of the best soccer games around.
It’s not only Son who’s managed to secure a spot in this week’s FC 24 TOTW, as both Federico Gatti and John McGinn have earned themselves Featured TOTW upgrades. Gatti’s been in fine form for Juventus in recent weeks, heading home against reigning champion Napoli at the Allianz Stadium. The Italian has had a +10 boost to his overall stat, making him a bit of a beast at the back.
McGinn, meanwhile, has played a crucial role in Unai Emery’s surging Aston Villa side this season, securing back-to-back Man of the Match awards in victories over title chasers Manchester City and Arsenal. The Scotsman has received a more modest +7 upgrade to his overall, with his featured stats almost putting him in the infamous Gullit Gang.
Elsewhere in the list, there are inclusions well within expectations. Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino notched up a goal and assist in a MOTM performance against Villareal, Manchester United Women’s Melvine Malard scored a brace and added an assist to her tally against Spurs, and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette scored a hat-trick against Toulouse.
The biggest standout for pace merchants is Estoril starlet Rodrigo Gomes. The Portuguese midfielder has been on a tear in Liga Portugal, nailing two MOTM performances on the bounce. With three goals and two assists to his name in his last two games, he’s been given a monstrous +25 overall on his POTW card. Sporting a whopping 94 Pace and 87 Dribbling, he’ll be one to watch if the price is right in one of the best sports games.
Massive upgrades such as those given to Gomes have become commonplace in FC 24 – something epitomized by the ridiculous POTM SBC Maguire card that’s turned the Manchester United man into a marauding speedster. Whether you’re hopping into FC 24 Ultimate Team for the first time, or are trying to find that missing piece for your team, these new cards offer plenty of creative options.
