Fall Guys saw a big news blowout yesterday, announcing it was going free-to-play and setting its Nintendo Switch and Xbox release date for June. The good news doesn’t stop there, however, as new skins were announced for the game – the most exciting of which has to be the upcoming Assassin’s Creed crossover.
Debuting in the Fall Guys announcement stream, players will soon be able to dress their beans up as fan favourite Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin’s Creed II and its sequels Brotherhood and Revelations. The design features the signature hood of the Assassins, as well as deceptively adorable hidden blade bracers.
While no release date has been officially announced for the Fall Guys Assassin’s Creed skin, the reveal comes ahead of the rebooted Fall Guys season one, suggesting the skin will be made available around that time. Crossover skins have been previously earned either by paying for them in the Fall Guys store, earning them over the course of a season, or by completing challenge events. With the new paid season pass announcement, however, it remains to be seen if the Ezio skin will require players to be pass holders first before they can earn it.
Amusingly, the idea of Ezio joining the Fall Guys roster was teased way back in 2020, when Twitter user ‘HoggysArt’ had his fan concept of an Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood skin retweeted by the official Fall Guys account. The Fall Guys account outed the Assassin’s Creed Twitter account for liking the concept, which then responded jokingly “It’s funny because we almost took the name Fall Guys…” alongside a gif of Assassin’s Creed’s Altaïr performing the game’s iconic Leap of Faith from a high tower.
Alongside Assassin’s Creed, two more franchises were announced to be joining the Fall Guys crossover roster in the near future. Pusheen, the adorable cartoon cat famous mostly for her complete dominance in the realm of Facebook gifs, was the first announced to be joining Ezio in the near future. Mecha-Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah were also announced, joining Godzilla who was added to the game back in 2020. Coming just after the end of the Call of Duty Warzone Godzilla event this year, it seems fans of the Japanese icon will continue to be well served as the year goes on.
