Exoprimal crossplay and party system explained

If you are wondering whether Exoprimal crossplay is on, we have got you covered in this article where we explain how playing with friends in the shooter works.

Exoprimal Crossplay

Are you wondering if Exoprimal crossplay is available in the third-person shooter? With the PvPvE multiplayer experience being the core of the shooter, it is likely you will want to be able to party up with your friends, even if they are on a different platform from you.

So, if you are looking to jump into Exoprimal, either by buying the game or through Exoprimal on Game Pass, then this guide will help you out. It’s definitely looking like it will be one of the best co-op games right now, so we will run through if you can play the game with those on different platforms to yourself, either teaming up or competing against them.

Exoprimal crossplay explained

Exoprimal does feature crossplay between Xbox, PS5, PS4, and PC players. However, crossplay works for matchmaking only, and you cannot invite friends from other platforms to your party for now. It’s likely a post-launch update will allow crossplay parties.

In order to make use of crossplay, you will need to sign in using your Capcom ID. If you don’t have one yet, you can find out how to make one here.

Considering the fact that the Exoprimal betas locked crossplay to matchmaking only, it’s looking like Exoprimal won’t feature a crossplay invite system, meaning you can’t invite friends from other platforms to form a squad. That being said, the foundations of the crossplay system lie with the Capcom ID, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to us if crossplay invites are available with a post-launch update.

This happens to plenty of games, for example, Chivalry 2, which only added crossplay invites in a May 2023 update, almost two years after the game first launched.
