Elden Ring’s horse Torrent – how to get Elden Ring’s horse

Torrent is your noble steed in Elden Ring, but finding your horse can be tough. Here's how to get the horse in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring Horse: The player character can be seen jumping to a cliff on Torrent.

Elden Ring‘s horse is one of the most important tools in the game. Allowing you to explore The Lands Between quickly, the horse – named Torrent – is vital to ensuring you are able to explore every nook and cranny on the large map.

Torrent isn’t given to you right off the bat. Instead, you will have to get a significant way through the first playable area of Limgrave in order to find your trusty steed. This means your initial hours with the game will be tough if you don’t end up mainlining it to the location where you can pick Torrent up

Fear not though, as we have picked up Torrent for ourselves and will tell you how to get Elden Ring’s horse in Limgrave. Rather than having to find them, you will need to do something else to end up with the ability to summon Torrent whenever you would like.

Torrent is the only horse in Elden Ring that you can ride and will be alongside you from the opening hours of your journey. Torrent has the ability to jump, run, and you can perform attacks and spells while saddled up too.

If you find a large gust of wind, Torrent can use them to be lifted up to higher areas within The Lands Between.

In order to find the horse in Elden Ring, you will need to rest at the Site of Grace, south-east of Gatefront Ruins. Here Melina will greet you and grant you the trusty steed. Once you have Torrent, you can then use the Spectral Steed Whistle at any time to summon them.

The Spectral Steed Whistle can be equipped to your quickslot menu and activated by pressing the use button. It isn’t a limited resource so you can use it as much as you want.

When playing co-operatively, only the host of the game can call in their mount, with everyone else having to stay on foot.
