Elden Ring‘s horse is one of the most important tools in the game. Allowing you to explore The Lands Between quickly, the horse – named Torrent – is vital to ensuring you are able to explore every nook and cranny on the map.
Torrent isn’t given to you right off the bat from what we’ve seen in the Elden Ring technical test. Instead you will have to get a significant way through the playable area of Limgrave in order to find them. This means your initial hours with the game will be tough and if you don’t know how to get Elden Ring’s horse, you might end up missing out on obtaining Torrent completely.
Fear not though, as we have been able to spend some time with the game’s technical test and have managed to nail down exactly how to get the Elden Ring horse for you. Rather than a specific Elden Ring horse location, there’s rather a few steps you need to complete in order to get it.
Elden Ring Horse
Torrent is the only horse in Elden Ring that you can ride and will be alongside you from the opening hours of your journey. Torrent has the ability to jump, run, and you can perform attacks and spells while saddled up too.
If you find a large gust of wind, Torrent can use them to be lifted up to higher areas within The Lands Between.
Elden Ring how to get torrent the horse
In order to find the horse in Elden Ring, you will need to rest at three Sites of Grace allowing you to meet Melina. After the cutscene plays out, she will give you the Spectral Steed Whistle, which can be used at any time to summon Torrent.
The Spectral Steed Whistle can be equipped to your quickslot menu and activated by pressing the use button. It isn’t a limited resource so you can use it as much as you want.
When playing co-operatively, only the host of the game can call in their mount, with everyone else having to stay on foot.
That covers everything we have gathered about Elden Ring’s horse from the game’s technical test. Catch up on everything else about the game, ahead of the Elden Ring release date here.
