When was the Elden Ring DLC release date? The first and only major DLC for FromSoftware’s sprawling RPG, the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree release date marked a triumphant return to The Lands Between for the studio on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Elden Ring quickly cemented itself as one of the best PS5 games and best Xbox games after release, though if you’re yet to play and don’t know what the fuss is, then find out more in our Elden Ring review and why it got the first ever ten score from The Loadout. Furthermore, Elden Ring was The Loadout’s Game of the Year in 2022. It’s safe to say we’re pretty big fans of what Miyazaki and Co. have cooked up – this goes for Shadow of the Erdtree, too.
Elden Ring DLC release date
The Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date was June 21, 2024, on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The DLC arrived at midnight, local time in most regions. The date was originally confirmed in the ‘Official Gameplay Reveal’ trailer that aired in February 2024.
Shadow of the Erdtree was initially unveiled in February 2023 – a year after the base game launched. From that point, it was hotly anticipated to launch in February 2024 on Elden Ring’s second anniversary.
As we approached 2024, evidence for this being the case began to mount. In November 2023, the Steam backend for the game started getting some peculiar updates. This continued into the new year, further building the hype. In January, PureArts also confirmed its first premium Elden Ring figurine would be arriving in February – the stars were aligning.
However, we didn’t get the DLC in February (nor did we get the figure, which transpired to be a life-size replica of Malenia’s arm). Instead, we were offered the Official Gameplay Reveal trailer alongside that June 21 release date.
