The latest challenge to emerge is the Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares Raid and it isn’t as difficult as you may think to survive. Thanks to an unlikely weapon from The Witch Queen, defeating Nezarec, Final God of Pain doesn’t have to be a bloodbath, at least not for your teammates anyway.

Though the latest Destiny 2 Raid is fairly fresh into the game, it is already gaining traction within the community for its lucrative rewards and juicy lore tidbits. If you and your squad are savvy enough to defeat most of the Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares bosses, then observing Twitter user ‘CoolGuyGames‘ is a surefire way to the final boss packing. The cunning Destiny 2 player explains that a “quick tip for anyone who has the job of taking Nezarec’s Hatred. [Use] A glaive. The glaive blocks every attack Nezarec can throw. Purple ranged attacks and the stomp.”

They add that “you can also put yourself between Nezarec and another to block those attacks. I’m on double special.” Accompanied by gameplay footage, Destiny 2 players can see Nezarec attempt to severely damage CoolGuyGames, but such damage is seemingly negated while wielding Lubrae’s Ruin. Though Glaive’s can be a controversial item among Destiny 2 players, for those unaware, Lubrae’s Ruin can block incoming attacks. As such, this mostly stops incoming health loss from Nezarec’s devastating attacks.

Using this Glaive is already causing amusement with Destiny 2 lore fanatics, as many are pointing out the circumstances of using The First Disciple’s Glaive to aid the incapacitation of Nezarec, an underling of The Witness. “How fitting that Rhulk’s weapon is a perfect counter to his fellow disciple’s attacks,” says Twitter user ‘HavocTwoOne‘.

Nonetheless, others are still apprehensive about putting Lubrae’s Ruin to work, as Destiny 2 fan ‘Brian Lindauer‘ adds: “A glaive could 1-shot the boss and I still wouldn’t use the filthy weapon.”

The Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares Raid is off to a decidedly divisive start, as fans debate whether it is far too easy, compared to previous challenges.
