The best AK74U Warzone loadout

Looking for the best AK74U Warzone loadout? We've got you covered with the strongest build for the meta-defining rifle.

An Ak74U floating on a black background

You can no longer use the AK74U in Warzone because this version of the game was shut down. However, this guide will be updated and will come in handy if the AK74U ever returns. If you’re looking for an alternative, you can currently use the Kastov-74u.

With every new update comes a terrifying new weapon to Warzone’s battlefields. This is the case now just as it was during the Black Ops Cold War era of Warzone. However, despite the addition of mountains of new weapons during Cold War’s integration, players often found themselves picking up an old friend: the AK74U.

Players were dominating the battle royale game with the trusty AK74U as a secondary, alongside some of the best Warzone guns out there. Since it was a medium-range SMG that had practically no recoil, it was an absolute beast to pull off your back for a tense engagement.

Unfortunately, this iconic weapon has since been removed from the game once Modern Warfare 2 (2022) took the spotlight and its arsenal of weapons became the basis for Warzone. While it’s no longer possible to use the AK74U, you can use the Kastov-74u, which is effectively the same weapon. Nevertheless, this is the best build you could use for the AK74U in Warzone in case it ever returns.

Best AK74U Warzone loadout

The best AK74U Warzone loadout was:

  • GRU Suppressor
  • 10.3″ Task Force barrel
  • KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Spetsnaz Grip
  • 40 Rnd Drum Mag

There were several variations of the best AK74U Warzone loadout over the time it was available to us, but this one absolutely slapped. The GRU Suppressor kept you off the grid while improving vertical recoil, bullet velocity, and range. The 10.3″ barrel also increased bullet range and velocity, buffing the effectiveness of the weapon overall.

The KGB Skeletal Stock improved the overall mobility of the gun, allowing you to ADS much quicker than before to stay light on your feet and quick on the draw. The Spetsnaz Grip helped keep the gun’s kick under control when you fired, which was important given the overall handling of this rifle.

Warzone AK74U loadout: Two operators firing at each other at close range. They are battling in front of an enormous cargo ship named the Vodianoy.

We also opted for the 40-round drum mag here simply because we preferred having big-capacity mags, but you could also have gone for the speed mags if you preferred to run and gun.

For perks, we recommended you use the standard Double Time, Overkill, and Amped to get the best out of this loadout. This was undoubtedly one of the top-tier meta setups at the time, and the AK74U was the perfect pairing.

If you planned on running it as a secondary, as most of us did at the time, we recommended pairing it with our best CR-56 AMAX Warzone loadout or our best FFAR Warzone loadout. This meant you could effectively cover all ranges with ease, swapping to your trusty AK74U when you were up close and personal with your opponent.

Being such an iconic weapon in Warzone’s history, it’s a shame that you can’t wield it anymore – especially as newcomers won’t ever have got the chance.
