Weapons hot, vaqueros; it looks like the Season 3 update for Call of Duty Warzone 2 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is going to finally give players the operators they’ve been asking for. Information on the next season of content coming to the two mainline Call of Duty games is light, but a new teaser from Infinity Ward is hinting at an update focused on the immensely popular Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza – two characters who made their series debut in the MW2 campaign.
Now, before we go into it, we just want to say that this is something of a theory – as the content we get in the battle pass and the seasonal update associated with it is usually somewhat relevant to the narrative progression shipped with the update. So, take this with a pinch of salt, but – maybe – start saving your COD points.
Anyway, onto the teaser. It isn’t a lot, but Call of Duty has shared a short cinematic trailer that shows Alejandro preparing himself for action with the following voice over:
“Valeria has escaped. Let’s fight fire, with fire.”
As you can imagine, and see for yourself below, it sounds pretty badass and certainly seems to suggest that Alejandro – at the very least – will be the FPS game’s newest operator. As for Valeria? Well, we don’t know if they would introduce two new in-universe operators in one season, but it’s certainly possible. And, with this MW2 Season 3 teaser confirming the return of an iconic Call of Duty sniper and this classic Call of Duty map returning in MW2 Season 3, it’s clear Infinty Ward is trying to deliver things they think the fans will want – rather than dish our surprises.

In addition to this, the following key artwork has been shared. In the past, the characters featured on a season’s key artwork are operators in-game. So, it seems pretty nailed on that both Alejandro and Valeria will be operators in Season 3.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has the potential to be one of the best competitive FPS games out there, but there’s still a long way to go. However, if we can spend that time waiting playing as characetrs like Alejandro and Valeria, that’s not so bad.
