If you’re sitting there reading up on the five Modern Warfare 2 beta changes you need to know before the Modern Warfare 2 beta start time rolls around again, we have some interesting news for you. It looks like our first taste of the new Warzone 2 map Al Mazrah could well be coming to the second beta weekend for this competitive FPS game. We know that’s something of a surprise, but there’s a good reason we’re saying this.

Looking at the official Modern Warfare 2 strategy guide site online, it looks like several new guides have been released ahead of the start of the beta’s second weekend. As spotted by CharlieIntel, these include guides for the multiplayer mode Hardpoint, the large-scale Ground War mode Invasion, and the Ground War map Sariff Bay.

In a similar fashion to several Modern Warfare 2019 maps being based within the original Warzone map, Verdansk, there are going to be a number of Modern Warfare 2 maps based within the new Warzone map, Al Mazrah. One of these is going to be the aforementioned Ground War map Sariff Bay.

What does this mean? Well, it means we could be getting our first chance to explore parts of the new Warzone 2 map – which is a pretty big deal for those of us excited to play the new battle royale game when it drops on the Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 start date.

Of course, we’re not going to be able to play the entirety of Al Mazrah, but it’s going to be a decent chunk of it. You’re certainly going to want to check out your best Modern Warfare 2 M4 loadouts before diving into a Ground War Invasion game, either way. If you’re wondering what this POI is all about, here’s what a Blizzard blog has had to say about it:

“Home to the country’s valuable fisheries, this Bay maintains the history of Al Mazrah, as well as Adal. It contains a vibrant downtown section with suburbs, a modern resort, and a few small islands.”

It also looks like Hardpoint will be joining Team Deathmatch – but, we can’t say for certain that the shooter’s third-person mode will be returning for this weekend’s beta.
