Warzone 2 battle royale map Al Mazrah bigger than anything in Warzone

Call of Duty has finally revealed the new Modern Warfare 2 map and it's going to be the biggest battle royale map yet - here's everything you need to know

Call of Duty Warzone 2 Map: Multiple soldiers can be seen coming out of a plane

We know there’s a lot of chatter about Modern Warfare 2 and the Modern Warfare 2 release date, but there’s a lot to talk about when it comes to Warzone 2 – and we finally know what the first main map for the upcoming battle royale shooter is – Al Mazrah. The Warzone 2 map leaks were true and it looks like we’re getting a great map made up of varied POIs spread across a large area. What’s interesting, though, is that it looks like this is going to be the biggest battle royale map from Call of Duty yet.

Yes, you’ve read that right – Al Mazrah is going to be absolutely massive, and bigger than Verdansk and Caldera. There’s no information just how much larger this map is going to be, but the developers at Call of Duty Next have confirmed that it’s going to be bigger than every other battle royale map we’ve seen before.

It’s a map that has been built for the next generation of Call of Duty gameplay, so expect to see all the gameplay improvements available in Modern Warfare 2 also available on the new Warzone 2 map.

Adding to this, there are going to be a whole host of vehicles – with new mechanics – to traverse Al Mazrah and other new gameplay features like water combat, parkour, and a new and improved Gulag experience.

There’s also going to be an interesting new PvPvE experience in Strongholds, but Activision is going to reveal more about that later.

If you’re looking for a look at the official Warzone 2 map – which is the biggest one yet – you can check that out below (excuse the quality):

As you can see, the following POIs will be available in Warzone 2 at launch:

  • Oasis
  • Taraq Village
  • Al Mazrah City
  • Rohan Oil
  • Quarry
  • Hydroelectric
  • Marshlands
  • Caves
  • Port
  • Sa’id City
  • Cemetery
  • Sawah Village
  • Sarrif Bay
  • Fortress
  • Airport
  • Observatory
  • Al Sharim Pass
  • Airport

You’ll be pleased to know that places like Observatory and Airport will be Warzone 2 locations based on classic Modern Warfare series maps – and there are going to be chances to explore areas of this larger map through Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer playlists and modes.
