Warzone 2 Season 2 has finally arrived, bringing the new battle royale map Ashika Island with it. Stacked with fresh POIs to explore, players can also stumble upon this Ashika Island easter egg. You’ll need to channel your inner Animal Crossing, though, as this particularly easter egg requires an apt fisherman to step up to the plate. Whether you’re a COD or a haddock person, Warzone 2 just got a bit fishier.

Accompanying the Warzone 2 Season 2 release date, Ashika Island throws players into a new misty battle royale arena – but shootouts aren’t the only activity on the agenda. YouTuber ‘Geeky Pastimes‘ details this fun Ashika Island easter egg, which is “incredibly simple to do” and can yield some rewards for your time. “The first thing you’ll need to do when you drop is find some kind of explosive […] now you need to go fishing,” explains the YouTuber. While Geeky Pastimes has tested Semtex and Frag Grenades, they have to confirm whether Molotov Cocktails or RPGs work for the Ashika Island easter egg.

Once you’ve got one of those items, the YouTuber showcases different spots on the Ashika Island shores, which show fish jumping above the waves in an Animal Crossing-style fashion. If you “use the explosives on the fish” this will make them available to pick up as an item, while netting you 150XP for your troubles. “Now you’ll need to take them to the seal to feed them to,” Geeky Pastimes explains.

Yes, you’ll be feeding a majestic seal – well, kind of. The seal can be found “just outside the Aquarium” in Ashika Island, and approaching it will offer up the prompt “feed fish.”

After feeding the seal three fish in a row, it will begin to spawn various pieces of loot, from ammo to tacticals. The YouTube claims “once I did manage to get a Precision Airstrike from it”, so there is a chance to gain a tasty killstreak for your fishing antics.

The seal appears to be one of many Ashika Island easter eggs available for players to find: “They’ve said [Infinity Ward] there’s going to be more over the next few weeks.”

Will it require you to reel in more catches from the Ashika Island tides? We’ll just have to wait and find out. But the Warzone 2 shenanigans don’t end here. The latest Warzone 2 patch notes indicate a series of nerfs to popular weapons, as well as the inclusion of a brand new Warzone 2 Spawn Protection mechanic.
