Modern Warfare 2 leak adds weight to Season 1 weapon rumours

We know we're barely through talking about all the Modern Warfare 2 guns currently available, but it looks like four more are set to join the shooter very soon

We know we have only just about settled on the best Modern Warfare 2 guns and weapons to use in multiplayer, but it might be time to start thinking about the future – and this list changing. The Modern Warfare 2 season 1 release date is fast-approaching and several sneaky Call of Duty fans have found a way to look at some of the unreleased content coming to the shooter. Alongside alien-themed calling cards and unusual emblems, Reddit user ‘Storm’ has uncovered four weapon charms that feature currently unavailable guns.

As you can see for yourself on the Gaming Leaks And Rumours subreddit here, this eagle-eyed Modern Warfare 2 fan has found unreleased weapon charms that mention the BAS-P, Chimera, M13B, and Victus XMR by name. Interestingly, it appears as though the first three weapons are all receivers featured on the Sig platform – according to Reddit user ‘NC_Pitts’.

In addition to this, the BAS-P appears to be something similar to Call of Duty Ghost’s Honey Badger and a weapon that players will be able to see Ghost using in the first campaign mission.

When you couple this with the fact that both the Chimera and the M13B featured on several pre-release leaked lists of Modern Warfare 2’s weapons, and that some players have stumbled across the Victus XMR sniper rifle in the single player campaign, it seems more than likely that all four of these weapons are going to be available soon – quite possibly throughout Season 1.

Corroborating this theory, known Call of Duty leaker ‘ModenasHD‘ has shared an image of four weapons with the statement that they were held off the final release, most likely for release during Season 1. We don’t know if any of these weapons will make it into the best Modern Warfare 2 loadouts, but there’s certainly a chance if the BAS-P is like the Honey Badger – or the M13B is like Modern Warfare’s M13, of course.

A Twitch streamer managed to get Gold camo on every Modern Warfare 2 weapon in under five days. You have to wonder how quickly they’ll be able to get through any new Season 1 weapons when they arrive. Either way, Modern Warfare 2 is a haven for trickshotters right now and we can certainly see people pulling off incredible one-shot kills with the Victus XMR.
