On top of the dozens of attachments available on every weapon in Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward has also implemented a Weapon tuning feature. Weapon tuning is a way to fine-tune a weapon build precisely how you would like it. But, how do you tune weapons in Modern Warfare 2?

You will have to put in a lot of the work yourself before you can properly tune all your attachments for your best gun of choice. So if you are keen to make one of the best Modern Warfare 2 loadouts, you will need to know how to make the most of weapon tuning.

How to tune weapons in Modern Warfare 2?

Weapon tuning can be accessed once you have fully upgraded a weapon to its max level. Once at its max level, a ‘Tune’ option will appear on each weapon attachment that can be customised and altered. However, this feature is currently not accessible as Infinity Ward removed it due to a bug that caused the game to crash.

Once this has been added again, we will update this guide with the latest from Infinity Ward.

When Weapon tuning is back in the game you will be able to use sliders to increase or decrease the attributes of each attachment. For example, you can adjust the aim down-sight speed, recoil stabilisation, aiming idle stability, and aim walking speed for a grip. Barrels may change the damage or bullet velocity, while a stock will change aim down sight stats from steadiness to stability, and walking speed.

These adjustments are not as large as what you can make if you switch attachments entirely, but they are a better way of fine-tuning your experience to fit your playstyle and what you prefer from a build or gun. And, with a lot of guns and weapons in the game, you can get a lot from each one.

That’s the overview of what to expect from the feature and exactly how to tune weapons in Modern Warfare 2.
