It’s been a long time coming, but Call of Duty is finally starting to talk about the Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 update and what players can expect to see in the FPS game and Warzone 2 when the next update drops. However, as exciting as that all is, Season 3 isn’t here just yet; so, what’s going on in MW2 for the final week of Season 2? Well, Infinity Ward is letting the fans decide and Modern Warfare 2 could be about to drop the best camo grind playlist we’ve ever seen in Call of Duty history: Extended Shipment.
On April 4, ahead of the final Modern Warfare 2 playlist rotation update, Infinity Ward posted a poll on popular social media platform Twitter allowing Call of Duty fans to “vote now on what [they would] like to see added into rotation] with the next playlist update landing in MW2.
The four options are as followed: 10v10 Team Deathmatch, Dome 24/7, 3rd Person Shoot House, and Extended Shipment. Infinity Ward also went on to clarify that Extended Shipment is a playlist that doubles the base score limit of Shipment matches, resulting in longer matches.
We know you don’t need us to tell you what’s going to win, but here’s what the poll looks like at the time of writing. As you can see for yourself below, Extended Shipment is in the lead by quite a large margin and – we know we’re going to jinx it by saying it – probably going to win.
Why is an Extended Shipment a big deal? Well, as you may already know, Shipment 24/7 is – without a shadow of a doubt – the best playlist to spend your time in if you’re trying to level up your weapons, unlock battle pass tiers, and get an unholy amount of kills.
So, the fact that we’re – probably – going to get a Shipment 24/7 playlist where each match is extended means there’s never been a better time to start working on the camo grind and hitting max level on anything you haven’t got around to yet. We know the Warzone 2 Season 3 teaser hints that hotly anticipated operators are coming, and this classic Call of Duty map is returning in MW2 Season 3, but there’s still a lot of Season 2 left and it’s not going to be half as bad as you might think. Oh, this MW2 Season 3 is also confirming the return of this iconic Call of Duty sniper rifle. So, it might be worth making sure you have all the sniper rifle attachments unlocked ahead of time.
