If you want to make the most of your COD Points in Modern Warfare 2, then you need to buy the new MW2 Ash Williams operator bundle. We know not everyone is a fan of guest characters in Call of Duty, but this really is a must-have for fans of the Evil Dead franchise. Oh, and it also features well over 30 minutes of original voice lines recorded by Bruce Campbell himself, just for MW2 (and Warzone, of course). That’s right, there are more Modern Warfare 2 Ash Williams operator voice lines than there are voice lines for characters like Captain Price, Ghost, and Lara Croft – combined.
We know Modern Warfare 2 isn’t the most popular Call of Duty game ever, but it’s still one of the best FPS games out there right now. Not to mention the fact that it’s also a good way to bridge the gap between any one of the upcoming new Xbox games – and new PS5 games, of course – and the next. Whether you’re a fan of the current state of the game or not, though, one thing Activision has really improved upon in recent months is the selection of guest operators. Sure, they cost you real money and they take away from the realism often championed in the early months of a Call of Duty game’s life, but they’re a lot of fun. If you’re spending a fair chunk of your free time trying to climb the Modern Warfare 2 ranks, you may as well do it as a character you like – right?
If you want to make the most of your COD Points, though, you really should buy the Modern Warfare 2 Ash Williams operator bundle. Not only does this feature an array of specially-recorded new voice lines from the iconic Bruce Campbell, it features more voice lines than characters like Skeletor, Lara Croft, and Spawn combined. He boasts an impressive 34 minutes of unique voice lines, which is over a third of Evil Dead 2’s total runtime (the film this iteration of Ash Williams is from), and more than any other operator available – including chatty characters like Ghost, Valeria, and Alejandro.
How do we know all of this, though? Well, thanks to Call of Duty content creator ‘CODSploitz‘ – someone who showcases new Modern Warfare 2 bundles and operator voice lines exclusively.
As you can see for yourself below, reinforcing earlier claims made by Call of Duty leaker ‘ElvisCOD‘ earlier, Ash Willaims boasts just over 34 minutes of voice lines.
For some sort of comparison, Keeley Hawes iconic return to the role of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider operator bundle only sees her bring around seven minutes of voice lines to the game – which, let’s be honest, is a real shame.
Hip-hop duo Savage 21 and Nicki Minaj, both of which were added to Modern Warfare 2 (and Warzone) in the last handful of months, come with just over six minutes of voice lines each. The newly-introduced Skeletor has 11 minutes of voice lines and Hellsing’s Alucard has 10 minutes of voice lines for players to enjoy.
Comparing Ash Williams to original operators, you may be surprised to learn that he has a staggering amount of voice lines compared to characters like Ghost (10 minutes), Soap (15 minutes), Captain Price (15 minutes), and even Valeria (24 minutes) and Alejandro (22 minutes). Characters like Stiletto (24 minutes), Kleo (25 minutes), and Nova (24 minutes) all come close, but they’re still almost ten minutes of voice lines behind Bruce Campbell’s Ash.
In the past, we have seen 80s action stars join Call of Duty games with a selection of voice lines snipped straight from the cinema – namely John Rambo and John McClane in Black Ops Cold War. While a fun addition to the experience, the sound quality of these voice lines is disappointing and the variety is limited. The fact that Ash Williams features freshly-recorded voice lines is already a fantastic result for fans. The fact that it features over 30 minutes of them, though, really is a treat. If you’re an Evil Dead franchise fan, buying Ash Williams is a no-brainer. It also, though, means that he’s one of the best value operators when it comes to raw content – whether you like this S-Mart employee-turned-apocalyptic hero or not.
As for the rest of MW2, though, things seem to be largely as expected. We know this new MW2 update changes the damage range values of over half the guns in the game, but that doesn’t mean you have to completely change your best Modern Warfare 2 loadouts. In fact, quite a few of the best Modern Warfare 2 guns are still worth using – you just need to tweak your attachments a little.
So, whether you’re using the best MW2 FR Avancer loadout, the best MW2 M4 loadout, or something like the best MW2 Lachmann Sub loadout – which is always a classic – you should find yourselves earning more than enough killstreaks ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date and the new Call of Duty multiplayer experience. Ash, though, he prefers his Boomstick. So, that’s something worth keeping in mind before your next Team Deathmatch.
