The Baldur's Gate 3 Deluxe Edition will soon offer PS5 and Xbox players a physical version of Larian's hit RPG, but one big decision for Xbox remains.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition has been a long time coming. Soon, Xbox Series X|S owners who missed out on the PC and PS5-only Collector’s Edition will finally get the opportunity to snag a physical release of the hit RPG. However, it appears that Larian is still trying to figure out whether four is better than three when it comes to the number of discs to distribute the expansive adventure on.

Taking to Twitter to tweet about Baldur’s Gate 3’s Xbox console conundrum, Larian director of publishing Michael Douse says the RPG game is “apparently” going to be on four discs, though jests it “might be three again.” This “very dynamic situation” has given us a chuckle, and the ensuing thread is just the cherry on top.

Fortunately for PS5 players, there’ll be no such shenanigans on Sony’s console. The higher-capacity discs it utilizes ensure that the whopping 100GB+ of data one of 2023’s best games packs can fit comfortably with leg room to spare.

Even though modern Blu-ray discs are much higher capacity than they used to be, it’s clear that the Xbox Deluxe Edition of the multiplayer game is causing a few light headaches – not that BG3’s Xbox port has caused any major issues before… With that being said, we do need the studio to hurry up and make an executive decision for completely selfish, consumption-related reasons.

Hopefully, then, it won’t be long before the case of the many discs highlighted by Douse is solved, and the Deluxe Edition of one of the best PS5 games and best Xbox games finally comes home. If you haven’t already pre-ordered it, check out the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition here.
