Dragon Age Dreadwolf studio “confident” in late 2024 release date

It looks like the Dragon Age Dreadwolf release window is coming to PS5 and Xbox sooner rather than later, according to a fresh report.

Dragon Age Dreadwolf release window 2024: Solas the bald elf with magical blue eyes

After nearly a decade we may finally have a launch window for Dragon Age Dreadwolf. According to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, developer Bioware is “pretty confident” that the Dragon Age Dreadwolf release date for PlayStation and Xbox will fall sometime in late 2024.

“It [Dragon Age Dreadwolf] will be released this year, last I heard,” Grubb says during a recent episode of Game Mess. “And they’re pretty confident about that – doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee, it could slip – but right now, internally, they expect to release it later this year.”

Though Grubb doesn’t know when one of the most hotly-anticipated RPG games will finally be revealed in its full glory, he does assume that we’ll get a proper look “sometime this summer.” Grubb’s call is correct, as evidenced by the ‘Thedas Calls’ trailer which aired on Dragon Age Day back in December. At the teaser’s end, Bioware states that the full reveal will indeed arrive this summer.

The long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed Dragon Age Inquisition, Dreadwolf will see you “enter Thedas, a vibrant land of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities – steeped in savage combat and secret magics.” Oh, and party member-turned-antagonist Solas is bound to be an even bigger pain in the neck than he was before.

While we still have some months to wait before we see what Bioware’s cooking up for the new PS5 game and new Xbox game, Dreadwolf potentially arriving much sooner than we initially expected is incredibly exciting. Grubb doesn’t specify which quarter “later” is referring to, but to give enough time for pre-orders and the rest of the marketing machine to do its thing we can only imagine we’ll be making our return to Thedas during the holiday season – what’s a few extra months at this point?
