Despite asserting itself as one of the best RPG games in 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 players on the game’s subreddit highlight issues with the game’s endings. Instigating the discussion, Redditor ‘AmeleFrodo’ believes “that all [the] endings are terrible […] in the ending cinematics, companion reactions and dialogues are so shallow and cringe.” Furthermore, they add that “the endings make me unsatisfied.”

On that notion, ‘HighTopsFunkoPops’ comments that “I have no idea what became of Shadowheart or Halsin. Shadowheart was one of my closest companions in my first run, and not getting an ending to her story felt wrong.” Conversely, ‘stillnotking’ adds to this, saying that “I get that it’s hard to take all possible player choices into account […] but I would have much preferred an epilogue for the characters, some of whom get absolutely no mention whatsoever if they weren’t in your active party for the final fight.”
There is an astounding amount of endings to consider, though. In fact, according to developer Larian Studios, there are over 17,000 different Baldur’s Gate 3 ending, confirming it FextraLife before the game’s release.
