Larian Studios gives Baldur’s Gate 3 players a huge amount of brilliant moments to uncover in its hit RPG, and one moment in particular was the talk of everyone exploring the Forgotten Realms. Following the game’s success at launch, cast members from BG3 discuss working on the title at EGX 2023, and voice actor Dave Jones reacts to that bear scene.
Speaking about their experiences during ‘Q&A with the Actors of Baldur’s Gate 3‘ at EGX 2023, attended by The Loadout reporter Aaron Down, details that Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actor Dave Jones “recorded it months prior to it […] I had no idea that they were going to use it for the Panel From Hell.”
Giving a smirk to the audience in regard to the scene’s context, Jones says that “the reaction to it… was alright. The sales went up. It did what they wanted, and my timeline was fucked on Twitter. In the aftermath of the scene’s release, which got Larian Studios banned on TikTok for a brief period, Jones adds that “every fan has been so nice. [They have] nothing negative [to say]. I like it.”
The RPG has remained in conversation when it comes to the best RPG games of 2023, whether the bear is directly responsible for that, well, that’s another matter entirely. Though we’re sure you’re aware of it, the scene in question reveals a hairy situation in which players can romance Halsin, while he’s in his bear form. And when it comes to Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian lets you romance most characters in almost every sense of the word.
