Assassin’s Creed Mirage length and how long to beat

Find out the Assassin’s Creed Mirage length and how long it will take to beat this much smaller entry in the iconic Ubisoft series on PS5, PS4, Xbox, and PC.

How long does it take to beat Assassin’s Creed Mirage? Given the length of the Assassin’s Creed games that focus on RPG elements, some of you may not want to spend upwards of 100 or even 200 hours in the Animus, and to be honest, we don’t blame you. Fortunately, we’ve completed the game ourselves and can let you in on the Assassin’s Creed Mirage length so you know how long it will take you to beat the latest entry.

Thankfully, we’ve got good news to report from our time with the game for our Assassin’s Creed Mirage review; Mirage is significantly shorter and smaller than recent entries in the series. While you won’t be spending a massive amount of time with Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Basim, it’s a blast that puts Mirage towards the top of the pack to become one of the best Assassin’s Creed games.

It will take you around 15-18 hours to beat Assassin’s Creed Mirage and its main story missions. However, you could easily spend upwards of 30 hours in a completionist run to beat everything the game has on offer.

In fact, it took us just 16 hours to beat Mirage for our review, focusing mainly on the main missions. During this time, we also completed several Contract side missions and collected various collectibles, such as the Assassin’s Creed Mirage A Challenge Enigma.

However, if you were to bee line the main story, it could certainly be completed in just 10-12 hours, depending on how skilled you are. This puts Mirage on par with the older entries in the series, such as Brotherhood and Revelations. Given the return to tradition that Mirage represents, with a smaller map and less RPG mechanics, it makes sense that the length is much smaller than recent entries. Titles such as Assassin’s Creed 2, Unity, and Syndicate sat nicely around the 20-hour mark. For the RPG games in the series, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla sat at the 30, 40, and 60+ hour marks respectively.

One of our favorite things about Mirage, however, is that there is plenty to do outside of the main story if you would like too. It’s not to the same, often overwhelming degree as Odyssey and Valhalla, but Mirage has several interesting side activities that will let you spend more time in its rich rendition of 9th century Baghdad. For example, there are an array of Contract missions and Tales of Baghdad activities, which are effectively side quests, plenty of armor and weapons to earn, and lots of collectibles.

While these aren’t necessary to complete, especially since there’s no XP leveling system like Odyssey or Valhalla, it’s a great way to squeeze some extra fun out of Mirage. We’ve now completed much more of these activities since beating the main story and we’ve spent around 30 hours with the game.

Our experience playing through Assassin’s Creed Mirage matches up with pre-release information that was revealed, confirming that Mirage would, in fact, be a much smaller experience.

For example, lead producer Fabian Salomon, during an interview with YouTuber Julien Chièze, shared “the latest playtimes [Ubisoft] received average at around 20-23 hours.” This was based on internal playtesters within Ubisoft.

Salomon also shared that the playtime “can go up to 25-30 hours for the completionists, and we’ll say that those who will be rushing the game will be around 20 hours.”

After playing through the game ourselves, this is certainly the case. Baghdad is a relatively small but dense setting, there’s less loot to grind, and there’s fewer main and side missions to complete.

What is the longest Assassin’s Creed game?

Unsurprisingly, the longest game in the series is easily Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which according to our own experiences, can take upwards of over 60 hours to complete for the main story alone, and can be increased to up to 150 hours based on completionist runs.

Sitting in second and third place are Odyssey and Origins, both of which take place within the RPG games of the franchise. The shortest ‘game’ in the series is Freedom Cry, a small standalone DLC that takes around four hours to finish and was released shortly after Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.

As mentioned earlier, from our playthrough of the AC Mirage, it sits nicely within the pack of the more traditional Assassin’s Creed titles, like Brotherhood and Revelations, which certainly isn’t a bad thing.

That’s the Assassin’s Creed Mirage length, and thankfully, you won’t have to spend hours trying to beat it. Exploring the city of Baghdad feels great, but too much of a good thing can be a problem, as many experienced with the drawn-out RPG AC games like Valhalla. If you’re diving in yourself, find out the best Assassin’s Creed Mirage tool to pick, as it’s a difficult decision you’ll have to make early on.
