If the back-to-back slog of massive, 50-hour RPG games in the Assassin’s Creed series knocked you for six, then last year’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an absolute blessing. Despite being a refreshing, more compact experience, it still delivered all the AC goodness that fans love. If you’re looking for a way back into the series, it’s a great re-entry point, and luckily for you it’s now sitting at its lowest ever price thanks to the current PS5 sale.
We’ve already highlighted some pretty impressive deals on some of the best PS5 games in the current sale – such as a 67% discount on this tasty Fallout 4 and Skyrim combo meal. However, if sprawling RPG games have got you down when it comes to Assassin’s Creed, then fear not, because AC Mirage is a return to stealthy form for Ubisoft’s iconic series. And right now, you can grab it for just $24.99/£22.49 – the cheapest it’s ever been on PS5 – which is a saving of 50%.
While Mirage still has plenty of gear upgrades and skill trees to navigate, things are much more refined than the likes of Valhalla and Origins. Basim’s adventure through 9th-century Baghdad is super slick, and feels like a callback to earlier Assassin’s Creed games with a big focus on social stealth and parkour.
Its main story comes in at a tight 15-18 hours, based on The Loadout team’s playthroughs, but it still packs in a lot, with various targets to assassinate in whichever way you see fit and plenty of narrative twists. It’s safe to say we enjoyed it a lot more than its mammoth predecessors, as our AC Mirage review and our best Assassin’s Creed games list both prove.
While Mirage has enjoyed discounts in the past, this one takes it to a price point that’s hard to ignore. However, the current sale on the PlayStation Store is also overflowing with discounts on some of the best games of 2023, such as Final Fantasy 16 and Lords of the Fallen.
