FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6 was a sweeping success on Xbox and PS5, opening the series up to a much wider audience than it has typically seen. So, to coincide with an excellent new AC6 patch that added new PvP maps, AC parts, ranked multiplayer, and more, Bandai Namco and Xbox are giving you a chance to get your hands on a very, very rare Armored Core 6 Xbox Series X console and controller.
That’s right, the most powerful Xbox, now donning Armored Core 6 clothes, can be yours if you’re willing to put in some work. Taking down the Armored Core 6 bosses and facing off against others in AC6 multiplayer has never looked so good, so why not bag yourself one of the best gaming consoles and best Xbox controllers out there?
From Monday, December 18, 2023, until Monday, January 1, 2024, you can enter a contest to win an Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon Xbox Series X console or controller in Bandai Namco’s ‘Armored Core Sweepstake’. Open to residents of the US, UK, and EU, all you need to do to enter the contest is to follow the instructions in the Bandai Namco US post or the Bandai Namco Europe post. The requirements are slightly different depending on your region. Still, it generally involves following the AC, Xbox, and Bandai Namco Twitter accounts, retweeting a post, and sharing a screenshot of your custom mech in-game with the correct hashtag.
So, it’s a little bit of legwork required to be in for a chance of winning, but it’s well worth it once you see the unique design. With scuffed metal styling and inlays and small red accent markings, the console and controller are suitably mech-like. Unfortunately, the text does take away from the overall design in our eyes, and it’s a shame that the rare controller doesn’t feature the textured grips and triggers of more recent special edition joypads. That’s not to say it’s not a stunning and extremely rare Xbox, so, sadly, there will only be five lucky winners, chosen on January 8, with one Xbox Series X console and four controllers available. We can only hope that it will be available for purchase in the future, though it’s unlikely.
It’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the first time this limited edition Armored Core Xbox and corresponding controller has been dangled in front of our faces; a similar contest was held to celebrate the launch of the game. However, with only a handful of these custom Xbox consoles out in the wild, it’s still an incredibly rare item and one that’s perfect for fans of FromSoftware’s action-packed mech battler as we were in our Armored Core 6 review.
Unfortunately, with the contest requirement demanding you share your custom mech, this rare console is only available to existing fans who own the latest game. So, if you like the design but have no clue what Armored Core 6 actually is, then perhaps it’s time you strap in for some intense mecha combat. With the holidays fast approaching, there’s no better time to give Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon a go for the first time or to venture back in and experience a different outcome.
