The latest batch of Xbox Game Pass August free games have just been revealed, and while there are some bangers being added, the end of the month will see one of the biggest exoduses of games from the service we’ve seen in a long while.
Ten games in total will be departing Xbox Game Pass on August 31, including the critically acclaimed What Remains of Edit Finch, zombie slayer World War Z, and old-school classic Myst. However, the biggest scalp will be Hades, the roguelike sensation that set the world alight in 2020, scooping pretty much every Game of the Year award it was eligible for.
This means that if you’re a Game Pass subscriber and you haven’t yet ticked Hades off your ‘need to play’ list, you’ve only got 15 days to jump in and play it before it’s removed from the library. Sure, you’ll be able to still purchase the game on your platform of choice, but it’s definitely worth diving in while it’s still included in your subscription.
On the plus side for Game Pass, it is adding eight new titles to various platforms.
Top-down brawler Midnight Fight Express, the remaster of Commandos 3, and interactive mystery game Immortality are all day-one releases onto the service.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is probably the most recognisable name to be added in this latest batch, but there are some more niche games that could well be hidden games joining the lineup as well.
