There are plenty of ways to earn treats easily on Xbox, but perhaps the simplest method is just logging into the Xbox app on mobile. Literally all you need to do is boot it up and keep your streak going daily, but that experience is potentially set to change in the near future. In a bid to streamline the Xbox Reward points experience, a brand-new Xbox Rewards hub is reportedly set to replace the current mobile app.
Spotted by ‘Idle Sloth’ on social media, the Xbox enthusiast/reporter notes that “Xbox Rewards is getting a new app […] according to a message that has shown up on Xbox consoles.” The Xbox App allows players to participate in numerous tasks, each of them granting points towards claiming new Xbox games through Game Pass or Xbox Store coupons, enabling players access to some of the best Xbox games around.
Though the message currently appears in Spanish, a translation of the notice from Microsoft reads as follows: “We’ve recreated, simplified and integrated the Rewards experience on Xbox, making it revolve around the gameplay and activities that gamers love the most. With the new Rewards hub on Xbox, players will no longer need to have separate apps to earn or redeem Rewards points on Xbox.”
Allegedly set to end in December, Xbox players will no longer be able to benefit from Microsoft Rewards in the application, and will need to seek out the forthcoming Rewards hub replacement. Furthermore, Microsoft says that “this change is intended to simplify and streamline the Rewards experience for players and help them access all Xbox-related offers and activities in one convenient place. The weekly series will continue until the end of November, after which it will be deactivated in the app.”
Don’t worry, though, because Microsoft Rewards won’t be excluding Xbox going forward, despite the foreclosure of the Xbox app. The notice details that “Rewards with Xbox will remain part of the Microsoft Rewards programme, and any points you earn on Xbox will continue to be associated with points from the other parts of the programme.”
A specific launch date for the refined Rewards hub experience is yet to be clarified, by as this notice appears to be in the early stages of rolling out, we speculate Microsoft will comment on it imminently. The current Xbox app isn’t to be confused with the separate Xbox Game Pass application, which allows players to search through all the best Xbox Game Pass games that are live on the service.
