Valorant developer Riot Games has finally dropped the Valorant Champions 2022 anthem ahead of next month’s tournament in Istanbul, and it’s a scorcher.
‘Fire Again’ marks a renewed partnership between Riot and producer Grabbitz who put out last year’s anthem ‘Die For You’. This year’s track features US singer-songwriter and rapper Ashnikko, who is best known for her pop-bending tracks ‘Slumber Party’ and ‘Daisy’.
Throughout Fire Again – which you can check out below – a number of agents and familiar faces from Valorant’s pro scene can be spotted. From Fnatic’s Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett, to Sentinels’ Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo, to G2 Esports’ Michaela ‘Mimi’ Lintrup, some of the scene’s biggest names have been beautifully-animated by creative studio WIZZ.
League of Legends fans will be sure to note the similarities between this year’s Valorant anthem video, and some of the LoL Worlds tracks of years gone by, particularly when it comes to the pros morphing into the agents towards Fire Again’s back end – ‘Burn It All Down’, anyone?
For the second year in a row, the Valorant Champions anthem is, in our opinion at least, a certified banger. Riot Games’ music division – and certainly Grabbitz – can’t seem to miss.
