Valorant’s next agent Killjoy has been entirely leaked by Riot

Although we don't know what Killjoy looks like, we know exactly what they can do

July 29, 2020 Killjoy has been announced and she will be landing in the game August 4

Riot has promised Valorant players a new agent every two months or so and since Reyna arrived in May, it’s about time that we heard a thing or two about a new character to play in the new FPS. What we didn’t expect was for Killjoy to be leaked completely by Riot’s own Valorant website.

That’s right, we know what Killjoy can do and what their abilities look like. Although the page was swiftly removed by Riot once it realised its mistake, the damage was done and now Valorant fans are discussing the impact Killjoy will have on the game.

We don’t know the character’s look yet – nor do we know the confirmed gender of the agent, but people think they’re likely a girl from hand animations and the aesthetics we have seen so far. What’s most important to the game though is the abilities that they command, and that’s exactly what has been leaked.

Killjoy’s abilities look like they’re a hybrid between Raze and Cypher who both rank highly on our Valorant agents tier list. With robots at their command, including a turret similar to Overwatch’s Torbjorn, they’re great at harassing enemy players without putting their own neck on the line.

According to the Reddit post that saved the information from the Riot website, this is what the character can do, and a small monologue directed at Brimstone to introduce them:

“OK Brimstone, I read your Beginner’s Guide. Maybe too long. All you needed to say was—have me on your team!

I know you like that thing you do when you yell at the sky, but with me, tactics beat firepower. So, let me remind you how I’ve already thought of everything.”

  • ALARMBOT
Equip and deploy a bot that hunts down enemies who dare to get in range. When my killer robot friend reaches its target, boom goes the idiot.
Alarmbot not only deals damage, it temporarily leaves affected targets vulnerable to double damage from all sources. Hold equip if you want to recall your deployed bot.
  • TURRET
Sometimes it’s good to plant some roots. Deploy a turret that fires at enemies within its 180 degree cone. Hold equip to recall the deployed turret.
With my turret, I can hold an area pretty well myself while the others cover the angles I can’t.
  • NANOSWARM
OK check this out. Throw the grenade. When it lands, it goes quiet. Then, activate the Nanoswarm to deploy a damaging swarm of nanobots and catch the enemy crying. I love this trick!
  • LOCKDOWN
You’ll have to adjust your timing for the windup, but once you get this device going, it detains all enemies caught in its radius for about 8 seconds. Yeah, enemies can destroy it—except I built plenty more.

The Reddit thread documenting the leak also handily includes a video captured by Pika_chutp of all the abilities in reverse order to the list provided.

Safe to say whoever Killjoy is, they are really going to make a massive impact to the game – especially when defending points. Will they replace Raze or Cypher? Hard to say without testing them ourselves, and we really can’t wait to see more.
