Ubisoft Nadeo' free-to-play racing game TrackMania is headed to PS5 and Xbox consoles, as a new Bilibili post from Ubisoft confirms the TrackMania release date.

May 15, 2023 The TrackMania release date has been confirmed by Ubisoft’s primary social media accounts.

Though games like Gran Turismo 7 and Forza Horizon 5 offer hours of racing game thrills, you might be looking for another challenge outside of the PS5 and Xbox titles. Ubisoft is carving out an audience of its own with free-to-play multiplayer racer TrackMania, which has already impressed fans during closed console testing periods and with PC players alike.

TrackMania is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One consoles via PlayStation Network and the Microsoft Store.

Previously, a post from Ubisoft on social media and video-sharing site Bilibili, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla developer states that “TrackMania will be launched on May 4, [2023], invite your friends to create their own tracks and dominate the leaderboard! Play for free! Hurry up!” The post from Ubisoft is accompanied by a GIF of Trackmania in action, depicting a vibrant red vehicle speeding through one of the game’s many thrilling tracks.

The main Ubisoft social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook have yet to corroborate with the Bilibili counterpart, so it is seemingly a matter of time before the Watch Dogs franchise creator spreads the TrackMania release date news on a broader scale.

Numerous TrackMania games have been released over the years, with the most recent additions TrackMania Turbo and TrackMania released in 2016 and 2020 respectively. TrackMania itself has found a loyal audience since 2020, released on PC before making the leap over to consoles with a series of test periods. Ubisoft confirmed last year that the popular racer would be driving onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and cloud gaming platforms, but word on the release date had flown under the radar since then.

Allowing players to create their own tracks and compete for the best times in an array of challenges, TrackMania’s more arcade feel sets itself apart from the more realistic approach seen in the upcoming Xbox racer Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo 7. Whether it will stack up to be one of the best racing games for genre fans remains to be seen, but it is possible that TrackMania could emerge as a new favorite once it hits consoles.

But sometimes we have to park our favorite vehicles and take a break with something different. If you’re looking for a change of pace in your next gaming adventure, then we recommend checking out all the upcoming PS5 games for 2023 and beyond.
