The Legend of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Sky Islands Get: Link can be seen looking at the sky islands

Are you wondering how to reach the sky islands in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? The new gameplay trailer for the follow-up to Breath of the Wild showed Links scaling mountains, climbing cliffs, and flying around in planes. But reaching those huge floating rocks seems extremely difficult without understanding the game’s core mechanics.

In this article, we will look at the numerous ways that Link can make his way up to the sky islands and how each of his brand-new The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom powers will enable that. Players can now get creative in their designs and strategies not just for getting to the sky islands but also with combat, puzzle-solving, and weapon creation in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

To reach the sky islands in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom you can use Link’s new Recall power or his new Ascend power. In addition to that, you can also build one of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom vehicles with the Fuse and Ultrahand abilities.

Hyrule has had its geography shifted once again for unknown reasons. With these new changes, there are many ways in which Link can reach new areas in Tears of the Kingdom, such as the sky islands. Of course, Link has a new bunch of powers to use to spread that creativity. With many ways to reach the sky islands, possibilities include building a flying machine, recalling falling debris from the islands and ascending to higher grounds.

One of the other creative ways that Link can get access to these floating giants is with his new power ‘Recall’. With Recall, Link can reverse time and retrace an object’s movement. So, a falling rock suddenly turns into a rising rock.

As glowing green boulders regularly fall off of the sky islands, all Link has to do is stand on it when it hits the bottom and use his new ‘Recall’ power to make the rock rise back up to the sky island. However, the precision of this power doesn’t seem too accurate. So, Link may have to take a leap of faith with his trusty paraglider to make it to the island.

Fuse and Ultrahand may seem like similar powers in Tears of the Kingdom. However, Fuse is used exclusively for crafting and Ultrahand is for other objects such as vehicles. In the official gameplay trailer Link is seen creating a wind-powered boat to cross a lake. However, the application of Ultrahand goes far beyond a simple boat.

Link can now use this power to create cars, planes, helicopters, you name it. So, creating an aeroplane or flying vehicle can also be a fun way to access the sky islands. Flying high above the sky island and dropping down whilst using Link’s paraglider is a great way to get on top of these and explore. But I wouldn’t expect to be able to find your beloved aircraft again.

The final way to access these sky islands is with another new power. Aptly titled Ascend, this power allows Link to swim up to a ceiling and pass through it to reach the top on the other side.

It’s worth noting that this power can only be used on an object with space on top of it, such as a cave or a building. It may even be possible to use this power to get to the top of the sky island in a fuss-free way. But who wouldn’t want to create their own flying vehicle to travel up to new heights?
