We will touch on each of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom characters and where they are when you begin your adventure. The complete list includes some additional new faces that shake things up and provide new allies and enemies for Link. And speaking of new things, check out the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom powers and abilities at Link’s disposal this time around.
All The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom characters
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom characters are:
- Link
- Zelda
- Ganondorf
- Riju
- Tulin
- Sidon
Link
Picking up from the end of the journey in Breath of the Wild, Link returns with his trusty weapons and tools to get him around Hyrule and take on the new threat from Ganon. We don’t yet know exactly where the game will take him.
As shown in the February 2023 Nintendo Direct trailer, Link can control and use various vehicles to explore Hyrule and the surrounding area this time. We’ve also seen that the Master Sword is damaged, so it’s possible Link will need to repair his iconic weapon before taking down Ganondorf once again.
Zelda
Zelda will accompany Link on his journey in the sequel, although much like the Breath of the Wild, her role is surrounded by mystery. Although, it does seem like she will play a bigger role than what we saw in the first game. From the trailers, it appears as though Zelda is stuck either in an alternate version of Hyrule or has been sent back (or forward) in time.
Nevertheless, Zelda fans should have quite a bit to look forward to when we know more.
Ganondorf
After defeating Calamity Ganon in Breath of the Wild, it looks like he is back in some resurrected form in Tears of the Kingdom. Although, it appears that his newfound energy and power are what is causing havoc on the land once again.
Like the other characters in the game, Ganondorf’s role is shrouded in mystery right now. With that said, it’s likely he’s responsible for Zelda and Link’s separation.
Riju
Riju is the young Chief of the Gerudo who inherited the throne after her mother passed away. Link teamed up with Riju in Breath of the Wild to regain control of Divine Beast Vah Naboris to help take down Calamity Ganon.
While her role in Tears of the Kingdom is not known, it’s likely that her and Link will join forces once again against the mighty evil threatening Hyrule.
Tulin
Returning in Tears of the Kingdom, Tulin is a young Rito Link first met in Breath of the Wild. As the son of Teba, the Rito who helps Link regain control of Divine Beast Vah Medoh, Tulin could potentially play a key role in Tears of the Kingdom.
The third Tears of the Kingdom gameplay trailer briefly shows off Link and Tulin fighting a giant beast in the sky together, so it’s clear they will at least be teaming up this time around.
Sidon
Sidon, young prince now king of the Zora, you might recognise as the brother of Mipha, the Champion of the Zora from Breath of the Wild. Now slightly older, Link and Sidon will be able to fight side by side in battle, similarly shown in the third gameplay trailer.
That covers what we know about The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom characters right now. Make sure you pre-order the game so you can meet them all as soon as the game comes out:
