Star Wars Jedi Survivor ending
At the end of Star Wars Jedi Survivor Cal Kestis journeys to the elusive planet Tanalorr, to confront former ally Bode Akuna. After revealing themselves as an Imperial double agent, Akuna also shows themself to be a Jedi Knight that survived The Emperor’s purge seen in Revenge of The Sith.
Cal finds Bode and his daughter, Kata, seeking refuge in an abandoned Jedi temple. Refusing to allow Cal to turn Tanalorr into a safe haven for people fleeing the Empire, Cal battles Bode in an intense Lightsaber duel, with Cal emerging victorious after landing two final blows with his blaster.
Following the death of Bode Akuna and the reclamation of Tanalorr, Cal, Merrin, Greeze, and Kata give fallen allies Jaro Tapal and Cere Junda a true Jedi funeral outside with temple. Kata is taken under the wing of the Mantis crew. Cal vows to continue his mission against the Empire, though he still struggles with inklings of the Dark Side that consumed him during his battle with Bode.
Why did Bode Akuna betray Cal Kestis?
Bode Akuna is responsible for the deaths of Master Eno Cordova and Cere Junda on the planet Jedha after leading Darth Vader and the Empire’s forces there to destroy a rebuilt Jedi Archives and to retrieve a tool needed to find Tanalorr. Bode was tasked with joining Cal’s rag-tag crew beforehand by Imperial forces, using the guise of providing for his daughter as a cover – even though she was safe in the hands of the enemy.
With the key to finding Tanalorr in his possession, Bode wished to create a new life for his daughter and himself, free from the Empire’s oppression. His past during the Jedi purge is vaguely explained to Cal Kestis, but it is unknown which Master trained Bode in the way of the Jedi Arts.
