How to unlock and buy weapons in Splatoon 3 works slightly differently from how it did in both Splatoon and Splatoon 2. That means that in order to get your hands on new gear as you level up, you’ll need to know where to go and what to do once you get there.
Read on below to find out everything we know about the new system of getting weapons in Splatoon 3. This includes new guns like the Stringers.
Splatoon 3 how to unlock and buy weapons
To unlock and buy new weapons in Splatoon 3, you need to visit horseshoe crab Sheldon at the Ammo Knights store. You can find Ammo Knights in the hub area of Splatsville.
Instead of using in-game currency to unlock new weapons, you will need to spend Sheldon Licences to obtain new weapons at Ammo Knights.
You can gain Sheldon Licences by levelling up your character in battles and consistently using the same weapons to gain experience with them, but you can find a deeper overview in our Splatoon 3 how to get Sheldon Licenses guide. To unlock higher-level weapons than your current rank, you will need more than 1 license, so be sure to stockpile them if you are going after a specific one.
