Does Resident Evil 4 remake have new game plus? The new game plus mode in the original was a loved feature, albeit one with mid-2000s issues that didn’t make it the most functional new game plus mode out there. But, with the remake, Capcom would have a lot of opportunities to improve it and help it become a much more useful mode.
So if you are jumping in and meeting the Resident Evil 4 remake characters for the first time or are a veteran, you will probably fall in love with them as we did. Our Resident Evil 4 remake review tells you why and is also where we got that answer to how the new game plus in Resident Evil 4 works.
Does Resident Evil 4 have new game plus?
The Resident Evil 4 remake does have a new game plus mode which is unlocked after you beat the game. This mode allows you to bring over all your upgrades, unlocks, items, money, weapons, and more into your new playthrough.
New Game Plus was a cornerstone of the original Resident Evil 4 and it is great to see it return. Once you have completed the game, you can begin a New Game Plus run on any of the Resident Evil 4 difficulty levels. This is different to the original where you were restricted to the difficulty you originally beat the game on with your save, just bringing over all your gear and items.
How to start New Game Plus in Resident Evil 4?
New Game Plus in Resident Evil 4 can be started by saving your game after you have finished the story. From there select “load” and click on your new save in the list, which will begin the game again, this time in New Game Plus mode.
You will be prompted to do this when you finish, but can always reload your last save before escaping the island and save once the credits have rolled if you didn’t save the first time.
That covers the Resident Evil 4 new game plus mode which makes a return once again. For even more guides on the game, check out our list of the Resident Evil 4 voice actors who play the characters you meet throughout the campaign and more in our Resident Evil 4 remake walkthrough article.
