No, the PSVR 2 is not backwards compatible, meaning PSVR 1 games cannot be played on the PSVR 2 headset. However, the PSVR 1 headset does work on the PS5.
This is unfortunate news, not just for those who own the PSVR 1 and a catalogue of games, but for games preservation in general. This library of games will sadly be restricted to the older hardware unless something changes. If you own the PSVR 1, it’s certainly worth hanging onto it if you think you’ll ever want to replay these games in the future.
