Are you looking for some free PS5 games? Well, PlayStation has you covered with it’s selection of PS Plus November 2023 games – at least, one of them is a PS5 game, anyway. If you’re looking for something to play and you have an active PS Plus membership, next month’s games are well worth checking out.
But, of course, the big question about next month’s PS Plus offering still remains: what actually are the new free PS Plus games and are they worth playing? Well, they’re not exactly new PS5 games, but one of them is one of the best open world games of all time and another one of them is a truly fantastic co-op shooter. Oh, and there’s a Dragon Ball game in there too. So, what’s not to love?
As you can see below, the PS Plus games for November 2023 are:
- Mafia 2 Definitive Edition (PS4)
- Aliens Fireteam Elite (PS4 / PS5)
- Dragon Ball The Breakers (PS4)
Mafia 2 Definitive Edition isn’t a full remake like 2020’s Mafia Definitive Edition, but it’s a remaster of a truly fantastic game that follows Vito Scaletta through a post-war life entangled with crime families, the Irish Mob, and his own ambitions. Narratively, it’s exceptional and the city of Empire Bay is a fun one to play around in. Originally releasing in 2010, there are some aspects of this game that are dated, but being able to play it for free is far from a bad thing.
As for Aliens Fireteam Elite, this is a frantic co-op shooter set in the Aliens universe where players – as the name suggests – join a fireteam of Colonial Marines tasked with rooting out Xenomorphs on the USS Endeavour. It’s something of a sequel to the original trilogy of films, and more directly based on the events of Aliens. It’s not one of the best horror games of all time like Alien Isolation, but it will give you a bit of a fright if you’re caught off-guard.
Dragon Ball The Breakers is an asymmetrical multiplayer game akin to Dead By Daylight or Texas Chain Saw Massacre The Game that tasks players with working together to escape one of the Dragon Ball series’ terrifying villains – who’s also player-controlled. It’s a fun one to play with friends, but it’s controls aren’t as crisp as they could be and – when you think about the aforementioned other options when it comes to asymmetrical games – there are better ones. That being said, it’s far from the worst game PS Plus has ever offered players.
Are these some of the best PS5 games out there? Well, with titles like Spider-Man 2 and God of War Ragnarok on that list, you would be met with some arguments. However, when you look at all the PS Plus Extra and Premium games available, the addition of these games at the basic level – meaning they’re free to everyone with PS Plus – is far from a bad thing.
It’s also worth remembering that you’ve not got long to claim your free PS Plus games for October 2023. The new selection will be available from Tuesday, November 7, 2023, until Monday, December 4, 2023.
