PS Now has been discontinued and replaced with a tiered PS Plus structure, meaning this subscription and its content is no longer accessible.

PS Now’s December 2021 free games collection was stacked full of new games for you to try and offered a surprisingly strong drop – even if they weren’t the latest and greatest games. They also helped grow an ever-expanding library of games across the PS4, PS3, and PS2 generations, available to play on PS5, PS4, PC, and via streaming on your mobile phone.

Despite this, PlayStation Now was ultimately discontinued and replaced with the expansion of PlayStation Plus to offer additional tiers around May–to June 2022. Check out the PS Plus free games and the PS Plus Extra and Premium games list to learn more about how this subscription currently works.

Read on to learn more about PS Now’s December 2021 free games that were granted to all of its subscribers, as well as what games left the service.

PS Now December 2021 free games

The PS Now December 2021 free games were:

  • Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
  • Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition (available until January 31, 2022)
  • John Wick Hex
  • Spitlings

These games were available from Tuesday, December 7.

This drop offered some tasty remasters of old classics: GTA 3 and Final Fantasy X are all-time greats and arguably the best in their respective series, depending on who you ask at least.

John Wick Hex, on the other hand, was an underrated action-strategy game which saw you, as the titular John Wick, navigate through assassination puzzles. Sure, it wasn’t quite as show-stopping but it was a unique and fun experience.

Likewise, Spitlings was a chaotic arcade game that was a perfect for a quick blast through – whether by yourself or with friends in local and online co-op.

PS Now was also available on your PC, allowing you to play a number of PS4 exclusives on your PC, without needing a PlayStation console in your house.
