The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Charizard event release time signals the start of the games' first Black Crystal Tera Raid, and it's going to be tough

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Charizard event release time: A Charizard imposed onto a blurred image of a Black Crystal Tera Raid marker

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Charizard event release time is just around the corner, and it gives players the chance to capture one of the series’ most iconic Pokémon – if they can clear an extremely hard Black Crystal Tera Raid.

The Charizard event will run across two weekends in December, and allows players to catch a ‘Zard with a highly-desirable Dragon Tera Type. This is the first ever Black Crystal raid in Scarlet and Violet, and with it being classed as a “seven-star raid”, it’s anticipated to be the hardest Tera Raid in the game so far. Charizard is expected to have a diverse and powerful moveset, juiced up stats, and could be Level 100 too. It’s safe to say that if you do manage to add one of these Charizards to your collection, you’ll be the proud owner of one of the best Pokémon Scarlet and best Pokémon Violet Pokémon.

So, when is the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Charizard event release time? The first period of Charizard Tera Raids starts on Thursday, December 1 at 4pm PT/ 7pm ET/ 11:59pm GMT, and wraps up on Sunday, December 4 at the same time of day.

If you’re unable to grab a Charizard during this period, then fear not – a second Charizard Tera Raid event is coming between December 15 and December 18, at the same times as above.

While you can battle the Black Crystal Tera Raid as much as you like during these windows, each player is limited to catch just one Charizard from this event. Charizards caught during the event will have a distinct title known as Mightiest Mark, but you may be able to catch Charizards with a different mark in future Tera Raid events.

The Charizard Tera Raid event is the second in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s short life so far, following on from the Eevee event that let you encounter the fan-favourite ‘mon in any Tera Type.
