Popularized somewhat in the gaming sphere by PUBG, the phrase ‘winner winner, chicken dinner’ never fails to not make us hungry, and it certainly sounds like a nice way to celebrate a victory. Whether you’re competing at the highest level in one of the best competitive FPS games out there or working with your friends to succeed in one of the best co-op games, a chicken dinner is always worth considering when you find yourself a winner (winner). So, rather strangely, that’s why PlayStation – via the rather forgotten PlayStation Stars service – is offering everyone the chance to win a free Tikka Masala curry. The only problem with all of this is that the Tikka Masala on offer isn’t actually real – just like that damn Portal Cake.
If you’re wondering what we’re on about and why PlayStation is offering up a digital chicken Tikka Masala curry, you’re not alone – and even we’re not totally sure of the relevance here beyond the ‘winner winner, chicken dinner’ phrase. However, as per this PlayStation Blog post, players who “play any one of the featured titles (listed below) this month” will be able to “snag the August ‘winner winner chicken dinner Tikka Masala’ digital collectible. That’s not a string of words we ever thought we’d see, but here we are.
If you jump on and play any one of the following games from August 3, you’re going to be able to earn a digital Tikka Masala for your PlayStation Stars account. Interestingly, these aren’t any of the August 2023 PlayStation Plus games – so, you’re out of luck if you don’t own them. You will, however, earn 50 points if you play any one of the PS Plus games this month. They’re definitely worth checking out.
These are the games you need to play if you want to earn the Tikka Masala digital collectible, though:
- Battlefield 2042
- PUBG: Battlegrounds
- Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Yeah, now we’re thinking about ordering take-out too.
PlayStation Stars is a strange reward scheme where PlayStation players can complete challenges each month to earn points – with PS Plus members getting more opportunities to earn said points – to unlock digital collectibles based on some of the best PS5 games out there. And, apparently, curries. You can find out more about PlayStation Stars right here.
It’s worth noting that these points can also be redeemed for games and digital wallet funds. So, if you’re looking forward to any one of these interesting upcoming PS5 games, it might actually be worth trying to earn yourself the Tikka Masala.
