The road to Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis has begun, as the hit RPG’s first piece of downloadable content has landed. If you’ve snagged the Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass you can now access two new background music (BGM) sets that bring iconic tracks from Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal – the perfect accompaniments while you’re tackling Tartarus on PS5 and Xbox.
According to developer Atlus, the ‘Persona 4 Golden EX BGM Set’ includes ‘Backside of the TV’, ‘Game’, ‘Junes Theme’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Long Way’, ‘Revelations: Mitsuo’, ‘The Almighty’, and the RPG game’s aptly-named battle results screen theme, ‘Results’.
Meanwhile, the ‘Persona 5 Royal EX BGM Set’ will (re)introduce you to ‘Life Will Change’, ‘Beneath the Mask’, ‘Kichijoji 199X’, ‘Gentle Madman’, ‘I Believe’, ‘Keeper of Lust’, ‘Blooming Villain’, and results theme ‘Victory’. Though P5R is no longer on the list of Xbox Game Pass games, at least you’ll be able to experience it sonically through P3R if you are subscribed to the service.
Atlus recently announced that Episode Aigis – the highly-anticipated recreation of Persona 3 FES’ ‘The Answer’ epilogue – would arrive in September this year. To tide us over until then, the P3R Expansion Pass will deliver three waves of content (including Episode Aigis itself) to keep us topped up.
This first wave has certainly delivered some of the best tracks available from some of the best games ever. Though we’re lowkey gutted that P5R’s ‘Last Surprise’ didn’t make the cut, the additions of ‘Beneath the Mask’ and ‘Life Will Change’ do enough to salve our pang of disappointment.
Despite now having to wait a couple of months until wave two washes over our game files, the joyous news is that the first step on the path to Episode Aigis has been taken. We’re still a ways off from being able to join Aigis in the Abyss of Time, but we’re sure those months will fly by as quickly as they do in P3R itself.
