How to transfer your Overwatch skins to Overwatch 2?
To transfer your Overwatch skins to Overwatch 2 you will need to perform an account merge on your console, with the process confirmed in a post from Blizzard. The steps to take are as follows on consoles. On PC, you don’t need to do anything your skins will come with you when you load up Overwatch 2 on your existing Battle.net account:
- Login to Overwatch from your console
- Follow instructions to scan a QR Code on your mobile phone
- Enter the code displayed on your console to connect to Battle.net account or create a new one
- Once complete, you will be prompted to confirm your console account upon the next game login, which will transfer your skins over
If you have played Overwatch on multiple different platforms or consoles, you have the opportunity to merge your linked accounts into one unified account via your Battle.net ID. This will mean all your skins across every platform, as well as your skins from Overwatch 1, in addition to other cosmetics, will all be unified into your new account on your Battle.net ID for Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 requires you to have a Battle.net account, unlike the first game prior to crossplay being added. So, account merging is needed on consoles, or you will be greeted with a screen asking you to merge your accounts. For more on merging your accounts, check out Blizzard’s official FAQ here.
Some players have reported doing this but still not receiving their skins from the original game. This appears to be a bug, along with the multiple server issues since the game’s launch. We are yet to get a comment from Blizzard on this but once we do we will update this article.
