Velma Dinkley, the legend that is a mystery-solving machine, is one of the Support archetype characters you can play as in MultiVersus – and she’s great. Okay… We know that she isn’t at the top of our MultiVersus tier list, but that doesn’t mean she’s a bad fighter to use in-game. If you fancy yourself a clue-finder and you want to give her a go, we have all the best MultiVersus Velma combos for you below.

As a Support archetype fighter, Velma isn’t going to be the hardest-hitting character available. However, she does have quite a unique set of attacks that offer healing, buffs, and significant knockback when used in the right place. So, although she might not look like it on the surface, she’s not the worst character to use and knowing a handful of MultiVersus Velma combos is useful.

So, keep reading and we’ll fill in the gaps and let you know a handful of great attacking chained moves that you can use while you’re still learning some of her more interesting attacks.

MultiVersus Velma combos

It’s safe to say that stringing together attacks with Velma isn’t easy and she isn’t built for long combos like Assassin archetype characters – just look at these MultiVersus Arya combos and these MultiVersus Finn combos and you’ll see what we mean. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t fire off a couple short ones that take advantage of her unique skillset.

So, without further ado, here are some of the best MultiVersus Velma combos you can use to get things started.

Light Air Juggle Combo

This isn’t going to rack up the most damage, but it will keep your opponent on their toes and can be a simple way to deal some damage without much concern. All you need to do is get them into the air, and Velma’s Supportive Words will do the rest. Be warned though, there are a lot of cooldowns to manage and you’ll need to wait if you’ve run out of ‘ammo’ for this attack.

If you find yourself a few steps away from the action, this quick combo can be the perfect way to disrupt your opponents and get a bit of knockback thanks to Velma’s Motivational Speaker beam attack. Again, you need to be wary of cooldowns – it won’t work if you use it multiple times in quick succession.

Bouncing Downwards Combo

You might not think it, but Velma is actually quite good in the air. However, her selection of aerial attacks work a little differently to what you’d expect. For example, upwards attacks do damage downwards and her side attacks often end up doing damage in the opposite direction. This makes her a little tricky to master if you’re switching fighters often, but this combo will help keep you closer to the ground and dealing quite a lot of damage – for a Support archetype character, anyway.

  • Input on PC: Space, W key + K key, S key + J key, W key + K key, S key + J key, S key + J key

High Damage Upwards Ring-Out Combo

We know this one has a lot of words in it, but hear us out… This combo is simple and it, as the name suggests launches opponents up into the air with enough knockback to get a ring-out on high damage. Again, it isn’t too complicated but you need to be somewhat wary of cooldowns.

  • Input on PlayStation: X button, left stick up + triangle button, left stick down + square button, left stick down + square button, left stick up + square button
  • Input on Xbox: A button, left stick up + Y button, left stick down + X button, left stick down + X button, left stick up + X button
