Ahead of the MultiVersus Black Adam release date, Player First Games has announced the voice actor lending their voice to the infamous antihero from Kahndaq, Teth-Adam, for the popular free-to-play fighting game – and you may have heard his voice before.

Bob Carter, the man with the job of bringing Black Adam to live just days after Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson gave the character his live-action debut, is an actor who has been in games like 2011’s Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter V,  and Smite. However, you may also recognise his voice if you’re an anime fan – he’s done quite a few English dubs in his time. We suppose it makes sense for one of the best fighting games out there at the moment to get someone as talented as Carter involved.

But, let’s talk about his video game appearances first. Despite doing voice work for Mortal Kombat’s Shao Khan and Baraka in NetherRealm Studio’s soft reboot of the series, he is perhaps better known for lending his talents to Odin in Smite and Balrog in both Ultra Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V. In the latter, he also provided voice work for Warrior and the Shadaloo System Voice – if you were wondering.

However, Carter is perhaps better known still for his work in anime. We don’t know if the One Piece is real, but we do know that he has worked as both Gedatz and Dorry for the English dub of the series. In addition to this, he has regularly provided his voice for Dragon Ball’s Bojack – in video games like Dragon Ball Legends and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and the feature Dragon Ball Z Bojack Unbound – alongside Syn Shenron in Dragon Ball GT and both Zaacro and Otokosuki in the original Dragon Ball Z series.

Following the announcement that he would be joining the MultiVersus voice actors cast, Carter tweeted that he was “so excited to finally be able to share the news” that he was portraying Black Adam alongside The Rock.

If you want to check out the full list of Carter’s acting credits, you can find them on his IMDb page here. You might be surprised to learn that he was also Chuck in Pokèmon Masters – which is fun. We know MultiVersus is getting a spectate feature like Super Smash Bros “very soon”, but will this drop alongside Carter’s Black Adam? Only time will tell.
