League of Legends patch 12.19 preview promises Ryze buffs

The League of Legends patch 12.19 preview includes a host of changes to the popular MOBA game's champions and items, and Riot Games hasn't forgotten about Ryze

League of Legends patch 12.19 preview: Ryze

A new League of Legends patch cycle is approaching, and according to LoL balance team lead Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison the MOBA’s developer, Riot Games, has a chunk of changes in store for “various languishing champions” in the League of Legends patch 12.19 preview – this includes a certain blue archmage.

This time around, Ryze is among the champions getting positive changes. Languishing at the bottom of most League of Legends tier lists, Ryze currently sits with a paltry 44.5% win rate across all ranks, according to U.GG at the time of writing. Though we won’t know what these tweaks entail until the full preview is revealed, we’re hoping it’s a step in the right direction.

Alongside Ryze, Ekko, Fizz, Jinx, Nasus, Sona, and Udyr (top lane) are all getting buffs. On the flipside, Master Yi and Rek’Sai – two champions who are definitely on the strong side right (at least as far as win rates are concerned), will be hit with the nerf hammer.

As noted in the preview, there are some incoming adjustments for Syndra which have already hit the PBE. You can read more about them courtesy of game designer Tim ‘Truexy’ Jiang below.

On the item front, Mortal Reminder is being buffed, alongside “various off-meta builds” – though we don’t know much about what the latter entails just yet. Eclipse is the only casualty of nerfs this time round.

With a solid list of changes incoming, you may want to adjust your picks and bans accordingly when you load into a LoL ranked match on LoL patch 12.19.
