Riot Games needs your help to squash a League of Legends FPS bug

A League of Legends FPS bug is running rampant, killing players' frames within the first few minutes of a game, and developer Riot Games needs a helping hand

League of Legends FPS bug report: Kha'Zix

League of Legends developer Riot Games has put the call out for community assistance with a weird League of Legends FPS bug that is tanking the MOBA game’s players’ frame rates.

According to ‘RiotTony’, players have been reporting a bug in both League and Teamfight Tactics that causes FPS to suddenly drop between five and ten minutes into the game, and remain “low or erratic for about five minutes or so.” As Riot has been unable to reproduce the bug in-house, it is now asking players plagued by the issue to submit information that will help the studio with its debugging efforts.

If that sounds like you, then be sure to head over to the Reddit thread here. But don’t worry, Riot’s not asking for anything invasive, just basic details like your CPU and GPU models, your GPU driver version, and the reproduction rate of the bug.

Additionally, if you want to go one step further, you can also submit information on any overlays you’re using (eg. Blitz or Mobalytics), alongside whether or not you’ve tried to run the game in DX9 mode or with SMT/Hyperthreading off.

Ideally, RiotTony would like the RPD files from games where the bug occurs to slimline the process, which can be found in League’s ‘Performance Logs’ folder.

For those eager to know what the ultimate cause of the bug was when Riot finally fixes it, the dev has promised to return with a report detailing the team’s findings.

Needless to say, if you’re experiencing this exact bug in your LoL ranked matches, then it is definitely worth helping Riot to help you.
