Ollivanders is one of, if not the most important shop for a budding witch or wizard, being the one-stop-shop for all things wands. As such, it’s good to know everything there is about the Hogwarts Legacy Ollivanders shop, including where to find the store location in Hogsmeade.
Early on in Hogwarts Legacy you’ll be tasked with finding Ollivanders during the Welcome to Hogsmeade main quest, though it can be surprisingly tricky to find. Take a look at our Hogwarts Legacy map guide for an overview of the whole wizarding world at your fingertips. This guide is based on our time playing for our Hogwarts Legacy review on PS5.
What is in the Hogwarts Legacy Ollivanders store?
Ollivanders in Hogwarts Legacy unfortunately doesn’t sell anything during the game. The main function of the shop is to provide an opportunity for your character to get their own wand during the Welcome to Hogsmeade main quest. During this quest you’ll get to customise your wand to your liking.
Given that there are no wand upgrades, and wand customisation is handled at the beginning of the game, besides wand handles found from exploration, Ollivanders sadly serves no further purpose. Nevertheless, it is an iconic location, so fans of Harry Potter will no doubt want to visit it anyhow.
That being said, no matter what wand you get, you can still cast the Hogwarts Legacy best spells.

The Hogwarts Legacy Ollivanders store location can be found near the centre of Hogsmeade, along the main road.
The location of Ollivanders wand store can be seen on the map below, identified by the wand icon:
And that’s all there is to know about the Hogwarts Legacy Ollivanders store location. While the shop isn’t all that important to the gameplay, it’s an iconic landmark that fans may still want to visit past the Welcome to Hogsmeade quest. Hogwarts Legacy has drawn considerable criticism during its development, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.
While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
