As a student at the most magical school in the Wizarding World, there are plenty of things stopping you from accessing all areas, so you’ll want to learn how to get level 2 lock in Hogwarts Legacy. Once you know how to do this, you’ll see that Hogwarts opens up even more than before with a lot more to find.
We spent a lot of our time in Hogwarts Legacy lockpicking, especially during our Hogwarts Legacy review. You can’t simply use your mix of the Hogwarts Legacy best spells in the hope that the locks will be destroyed. In fact, you need to upgrade an important and essential spell to do so.
To get the level 2 lock in Hogwarts Legacy, you need to bring nine Demiguise Moons to the Caretaker to upgrade your Alohomora spell.
If you’re following the Hogwarts Legacy quests to complete the main story, you’ll come up to a quest called ‘The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament’, where you unlock Alohomora. After this, you can find all of the Hogwarts Legacy Demiguise statues locations (Demiguise Moons) in our guide, to upgrade the spell.
Once this is done, you’ll not only be able to get level 2 locks open, but you can also get level 3 locks in Hogwarts Legacy open too.
That’s all you need to know to get the level 2 lock in Hogwarts Legacy and open the chests and doors. These should help you open plenty of Hogwarts Legacy chests, which you can find out more about in our Hogwarts Legacy walkthrough guide.
Hogwarts Legacy has drawn considerable criticism during its development, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.
While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
