The Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayato release date is upon us, but developer HoYoverse isn’t going to let the Yashiro commissioner have all the fun after today announcing via Twitter that two new Genshin Impact characters, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu, will be making their grand entry to Teyvat.
Referred to as “a mysterious person who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs”, Yelan appears to hail from Liyue. According to her Twitter reveal, “Yelan’s Identity has always been a mystery”, and she has a penchant for finding herself “in various guises at the centre of events”, always slipping away before their finale.
Ironically, those who have been keeping abreast of the latest leaks will actually know quite a lot about Yelan – at least how she’ll appear in-game. At the start of the month, what looks to be her character model was shared to Reddit, with supposed in-game screenshots also appearing on the site.
Meanwhile, little has been known about how Kuki Shinobu – who appears to be an Electro user – would materialise up until now. The deputy leader of the Arataki gang is reportedly an expert in law, which makes her place within the realm of delinquents very interesting indeed. From her moniker, the “Mender of Tribulations”, it looks like Shinobu will operate as a fixer of sorts, or even a mediator between the Arataki gang and the Tenryou Commission.

With two brand new Genshin Impact characters set to arrive, it looks like there will be no reprieve for our Primogem stockpile anytime soon.
