Genshin Impact 2.6 banner extended following 2.7 delay

Developer HoYoverse has announced that the Genshin Impact 2.6 banner will be extended, following a delay to the popular ARPG's version 2.7 update

Genshin Impact 2.6 banner extended: Ayaka next to Yelan

Genshin Impact 2.6 isn’t over yet, and it’s set to continue for longer than developer HoYoverse originally planned. With the version 2.7 update postponed for an unconfirmed amount of time – reportedly due to Shanghai’s COVID-19 outbreak – HoYoverse has announced that the ARPG’s current version will enter a third phase.

Ayaka wanters will be more than happy to hear that the White Heron Princess is going to be sticking around on the Genshin Impact banner for a little while longer. The eldest daughter of the Kamisato Clan will remain obtainable for an unspecified amount of time – at least until HoYoverse is able to fully reveal its plans for Genshin Impact 2.7.

This also means that the current Weapon Event Wish banner will also continue as it currently is, with Ayaka’s Mistsplitter Reforged as well as The Unforged featuring prominently as the premium five-star options.

While the Genshin Impact 2.6 banners for phase three won’t feature anything new, there is a brand new event on the way. ‘Spices From the West’ will have players help Nazafarin conduct her research on various spices, with the promise of numerous rewards including those all-important Primogems in return for your services. Kicking off on May 14 – following the upcoming ‘Marvelous Merchandise’ event – Spices From the West will run until June 7.

Though we’re now further afield from the Genshin Impact Yelan release date than originally expected, we’re glad to see the HoYoverse team is doing what it can to keep things afloat. With many players wishing the team well during this tumultuous time, we share in their sentiments.
